Why did I choose this topic?

Food is a basic necessity to survive and a complete diet is required for the proper growth and development of a person. So, what will happen if someone has not these necessities?

Yes, they will not survive in a society with a normal person. They will face many problems and would have many deficiencies. That condition is known as Food Insecurity. Food insecurity has direct and indirect impacts on physical and mental health for people of all ages. It is a big issue in Pakistan.

Food Insecurity is a situation that exists when people lack secure access to sufficient amounts of safe and nutritious food for normal growth, development, and active, healthy life. Although food is easily available in Pakistan, the country’s overall food security is poor. High poverty levels and high food prices have given Pakistan some of the world’s highest rates of malnutrition, undernourishment, and childhood stunting.

The rural area’s situation is particularly bad, despite the importance of agriculture to the rural economy. This is because of the high incidence of poverty in rural areas and the fact that many farmers are net food purchasers. Moreover, economic and environmental shocks have deepened the poverty of many poor Pakistanis, which in turn reduces their access to food.

Solutions

1. Farmers need to be educated in the use of new technologies and varieties that have adaptive capacity to climate change and crop management practices, ultimately leading to higher earnings from the land.

2. Eliminating poverty and avoiding hunger are the prerequisites for economic development. Food security and economic growth are mutually reinforcing in the development process.

3. In the long run, improved governance and management can guarantee food security.

4. First and foremost, stability in the country is a prerequisite to achieving food security.

5. Governments need to grow different crop varieties to mitigate their detrimental effects of climate change that can embrace climate change.

Benefits I gained through this experience

Being a Nutritionist and Food Technologist, this is my responsibility to provide awareness to people through advertisements, seminars, health campaigns, pamphlets, and social media. I will go to that area where people survive at a very low level even they have not enough money to purchase food for their children at one time in a day. I want to make the food industry and provide quality food to poor and needy people who can’t afford to buy food. I will surely make a connection with the food sectors to help me in this regard. I will do it INSHA ALLAH once I stand up on my own feet.

Lastly, this is not a war against armies, ideologies, or nations; it is a war against the challenges our civilization faces. It’s all about turning this Earth into a resourceful, prosperous, and sustainable environment.
